Are there any cheap insurance for studying in the US?

Hi,

I am a Belgian student who will start studying in the US this fall. I know I need to get a good student insurance since health care is so expensive on the US but the ones I have found are ridiculously expensive charging more than $1000 for one year! Are there any good insurances for international students in the US that has a more reasonable price?

Answer:

Health care is expensive in the US so student insurances get costly. However, here are some options that have better prices than the ones you mentioned:

AVI's Security Passport World is the best priced student insurance for EU citizens in my opinion. The price is 14 Euro/week so about 700 Euro for a full year.
Dr Walter's Pro Trip World Insurance with their additional insurance package is what I would recommend for non EU-students.
