Aso College Group

Located in the heart of the beautiful city of Fukuoka, Students at Aso College Group immerse themselves in the Japanese community while growing academically and personally.

Why study at Aso College Group

There are many reasons!

First, one of our main strengths is our shared campus with Japanese students. Our campus includes 8 schools, all bustling with Japanese students. On top of that, we organize various cultural exchange events to help Japanese students learn more about foreign cultures and languages, and for international students to immerse themselves in Japanese culture and language.

Secondly, our school is deeply committed to providing comprehensive support for students in their job search once they make the decision to settle in Japan. We work closely with local and national businesses, offering guidance on job applications, interviews, and even assisting with networking opportunities to ensure that students have the best possible chance of securing a job in their chosen field.

As said previously, ASO is more than just a Japanese language school. We operate various vocational schools, offering courses in fields such as manga illustration, information technology, and business. Should you choose to continue your studies, you are more than welcome to explore other programs within our school!

Now, let’s talk about the regional appeal. Fukuoka is located on Kyushu Island, a region that is often overlooked. Here, you’ll enjoy the convenience of living in a major city of 1.5 million residents, while also having easy access to nearby mountains for breathtaking hikes, charming beaches, and serene, more remote spots.

The people of the region are incredibly friendly, and you might even find locals striking up a conversation with you out of curiosity or to practice their own language skills!

And let’s not forget, Kyushu is centrally located between China, Korea, Shikoku, and Okinawa, making it easy to plan trips to these destinations from Fukuoka.

Japanese Language Courses

Our school offers two courses to choose from: a one-and-a-half-year course and a two-year course. Aside from the study duration, both courses are nearly identical in content!

While the courses cover the same material, there are a few differences worth noting. New students in each course are placed into classes that suit their skill level. The pace of learning is also tailored to each class, so you won’t have to worry about falling too far behind or being in a class that moves too slowly. We strive to ensure that every student is matched with a class that fits their level.

We recommend choosing a course based on your current proficiency and future goals. If you’re starting Japanese and want to reach a higher level of mastery, we strongly suggest the two-year course. It offers ample time to properly study and more opportunities to take the JLPT. This path will provide you with the tools to move forward with your projects in Japan. Even if you're already proficient, the two-year course can help you refine your skills and deepen your understanding of the language.

The one-and-a-half-year course is ideal for students who start at a higher level and wish to perfect their abilities. However, if you’re a beginner, you will still find a class suited to your level and have plenty of time to achieve your desired proficiency.

Our curriculum includes grammar, vocabulary, listening comprehension, reading comprehension, general Japanese (a mix of skills), and conversation classes. The goal of these lessons is to help students succeed in the JLPT, giving you more opportunities to pursue your future projects in Japan.

About Fukuoka city

Fukuoka is a city that strikes the perfect balance between vibrant city life and easy access to nature. Ranked as one of Japan's most desirable cities to live in for the past few years, it’s known for being affordable, especially when it comes to food, which makes it a great choice for anyone on a budget.

One of Fukuoka’s biggest perks is how well-connected it is. With both the airport and Hakata Station close to the city center, it’s incredibly convenient to travel around Japan or even head overseas. But you don’t need to go far to enjoy nature—whether it’s hiking in nearby mountains, relaxing at the beach, or taking a quick trip to the countryside, everything is within reach.

The city itself has a warm, welcoming atmosphere. Fukuoka has seen steady growth in its international community, and the friendly locals often love striking up a conversation with new faces. It’s a place where you can easily feel at home.

As the largest city in Kyushu, Fukuoka is also a gateway to exploring the island’s stunning landscapes, from hot springs to forests. And thanks to its central location, traveling to places like Okinawa, Shikoku, or even Korea and China is surprisingly easy.
