Few schools enjoy such a grand reputation as Harvard University. Here we take a closer look at the legendary school and try to answer some questions that a potential student may have.

Why study at Harvard

Harvard is one of the highest ranking universities in the world. They are the oldest institution for higher education in the US and one of the eight members in the prestigious Ivy League. Many presidents, Nobel Prize winners and other celebrities have studied here. If you want something that really stands out in your CV then few things can beat having studied at Harvard, even if it is only for one or two semesters. Most students attend the Harvard Graduate School where many courses are consist of 1-4 semesters.

The drawback is of course that it is quite hard to get accepted Harvard. Only about 5% of the applicants get accepted. And then the costs can be quite high. According to the schools website the cost for attending Harvard College (undergraduate level) 2015-2016 without financial aid was $45,278 for tuition and $60,659 for tuition, room, board and fees combined. Luckily Harvard has a good financial aid program that is open to everyone regardless of your natnionality so getting accepted is probably your biggest challenge.

Harvard consisted of 12 degree-granting schools. Among them are Harvard Business School, Harvard College, Arts & Sciences, the Graduate School of Design and Harvard Law School.
