Why I need insurance for study abroad?

My school say I must pay big money for insurance when study with them. Why insurance?

It is very important to have a good study abroad insurance so you can get help if you get sick, lose valuables, need a sick transport or legal aid. Student visas often demand that a student can show proof of insurance and many schools do as well. Since the school abroad often functions as your "home away from home" they need to know which insurance company to contact if something happens to you.
