I am from Belgium. I want to study on the US West Coast. Is community colleges easier than university? Please tell me a bit more of this kind of colleges and recommend some good colleges.

It is easier to get accepted in Community College than in a US university. Some colleges even offer high school completion programs so you can get a high school diploma and an Associate Degree at the same time, so you can get accepted even with bad grades or incomplete high school/secondary school, but if you want to transfer to a university you need to complete high school first.
Community Colleges have smaller classes so you can often get more time with your teacher than you would in a university and competition can be lower since most academically talented students go directly to university. Another advantage with Community Colleges is that the tuition fees are lower.
The drawback is that their status is lower than a university, but if you take a two years transfer degree in a Community College you can transfer directly to year three at a university that they have transfer agreements with. This way you can save a lot of money, and initially it is easier to get accepted, but your Bachelor's Degree will be as valuable as if you had taken all four years at the university.
