I dropped out on 9th grade, can I study in the US?
Hello,
I have 10 years of experience as a video editor, I really want to study but I don't have a high school diploma because I dropped out of school in 9th grade. Can I apply to College without a high school and secondary diploma? and If not I want to know if I have other procedures. And if yes I need to know more information about the cost and what I should do and if I should make a test and all other stuff.
Thank you so much.
Regards,

Normally you need a high school diploma or equivalent to study at undergraduate level in college. Otherwise, you might need to take a GED-test or a high school completion program. Some schools could also accept students who have been out of high school for at least six years and can show proof of extensive work experience.
Your best chance would be to apply to a Community College they are less picky and can often accept a student without a high school diploma to at least some of their programs.
In the end this is a case-by-case question that depends on what and where you want to study and what you have done since you quit school. I would recommend that you fill out our information request form if you want more help. Make sure to write what and where you would like to study and what you have done over the past years.
